LATEST NEWS (updated JULY 2010)

New IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations

New IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations came into effect on 01 January. These are the 51st Edition and all companies should now be using these for dangerous goods consignments by air.

The ADR and IMDG Dangerous Goods Regulations for road and sea respectively are valid through to 31 December 2010. The most important change here is that the training section in the IMDG Code is now mandatory (effective 01 January 2010). This means that training for the transport of dangerous goods in all modes is now a legal requirement.

Please be sure that your company is conforming by keeping all training up to date. It is also a legal requirement to maintain the training by revalidating your certificate every two years.

We would advise all of our customers that major changes are taking place to the dangerous goods regulations to be effective from I January 2011. We are currently collating the changes and these will be incorporated into our training programmes as soon as practical.

CD Media Training Ltd

We shall shortly be launching a new web based version of our Introduction to Dangerous Goods training programme, currently only available on CDRom. It is in the latter stages of preparation and we are planning the launch for September. It is extremely useful for staff who need to have a basic understanding of the transport of dangerous goods but do not require a full certificate course. More details will be found on our website www.cdmediatraining.com with links as appropriate.

For those of you involved in working airside at a UK airport you will be aware that you must hold a General Security Awareness Training Certificate (GSAT) to be able to apply for an airside pass. Our online programme has proved very popular since its launch last year and full details can be found at www.gsattraining.com where access to the course can be gained.
